Art is fun!

Here is where I'll share some of my artwork which is another enjoyable hobby for me. I've always enjoyed drawing with pencils. I've done some pastels and acrylic painting. Lately I've become enamored with colored pencil and watercolor. There are several creative artist that I follow on Youtube. I love the art tutorials.

I made the container in a gourd class.

This is one of my pastels.

Some doll knitting

Blessed Dressed Dolls

I have a secret. I play with dolls. If you call sewing and knitting for all types of dolls (mine and granddaughters) then yes indeed, I do play with dolls.

This is one of the newer curvy Barbies. I recently got her a blond friend to play with. She was so cheap on Amazon that I couldn't resist. She cost just a few pennies over six dollars as an add on.

The girls are looking better dressed these days. They used to lay around in the nude most of the time waiting for their wardrobe to appear.

Knitting related.

Last month I knitted the most adorable little dress for a 1-year-old for her birthday. I always have one or more knitting projects in the works. I enjoy several other types of needlework. Crochet, sewing and most recently embroidery but I always go back to my passion, knitting.
This is the Elena dress.

I had so much fun knitting this little lace dress. The yarn is from Knitpicks called Shine in the color Wisteria. They have a deeper purple that's pretty also. There is a link to the pattern on my Ravelry page http://www.ravelry.com/projects/odonnaknits/elena-dress
Tracie Taggart is the designer. I love her patterns. Ravelry is my favorite knitting site.

My next project will be slippers for my granddaughter knit from a free pattern on Ravelry.

Reasons for blogging

I have been wanting to start a blog for ages, however, it is one of those things that I have put off with the intention of "some day". Some day things have a way of never coming to fruition. Today I decided it was going to be the day to begin my blog. Here I am.

Now, what does one blog about exactly? I suppose there are millions of answers to that question, but from what I can see from the blogs of others it tends to be the things that one is most passionate about in life. Hobbies, important causes, family and special times together, writing for fun or to express a stance on important issues. Some write just for the sake of writing as a creative outlet. Blogs are great things. There can be so many uses for them. As mine develops I wish to share my thoughts and ideas, passions and opinions as well as develop something that can live beyond myself. Perhaps something my children, grandchildren and other extended family and friends can look at to understand better who I am/was when I am no longer here in person. Above all I hope to show the type of person I have become in the 58 years I have been here. Life is all about growth and development. I think one of the most important things is who we become in life as a collective of all our life experiences. Always changing and hopefully becoming better people for those around us.

Some of my topics will be knitting, sewing, photography, drawing and many creative endeavors that keep me going. Thoughts on depression, anxiety and health. My family and friends and the fun, crazy times in life.

As my blog morphs through what has become my magnificent messy mind, hopefully I will become more organized in life. I find that disorganization is one of my main problems. I deal with it on a regular basis, therefore, that is why I have entitled my blog as such. It reflects a goal I really wish to work on in the future.
